I've heard some people would access the area by boat but with the condition of the river I don't know if that will be possible this year. Probably worth looking in to in a hurry!

Congrats on that tag.
Have never hunted that area for sheep but a few members have
I am pretty sure you will get some help.
I would call Jeff Berkatowits, no sure on the spelling.
He is the region area bio and will be of some assistance.

Best of luck on your hunt for a nice ram!

Just some quick googling... Boat access isn't looking good- Effective Monday, April 28, Wanapum State Park will be closed due to a fracture in the structure of Wanapum Dam. Grant County Public Utility District has closed all beaches and water access in the area above the dam, which includes Wanapum State Park, to protect sensitive cultural resources and help to ensure public safety. Because water access is integral to the park and a primary focus for visitors, all access to Wanapum State Park will be closed until further notice.

There are sheep there!!!

You will not be able to access West Bar and the like via boat most likely due to the draw down.

Also the Tarpiscan road is washed out just past the game house on the bench.  Only cuts off about 2 miles worth of road though before the road is closed.

You can find sheep anywhere from the WDFW  Colockum boat launch down along the river.  Ran into quite a few right by the game house.

Should be a fun tagm I love that area.  Good luck!

Good luck. No boating on the river and sheep numbers are down.

Cross your fingers that Wanapum gets a quick fix, or it might be a lot tougher this year.
