Trying to nail down a purchase for my kid's first rifle. She's almost 11, just passed hunter ed, and ready to go this season for Ewash whitetail does.
I've done a ton of research, but still conflicted about what to do about stock size.
Her LOP is 11.5"+, and she's growing. Most all youth/compact models ave a 12.5" LOP. Will this work? I wasn't sure what the margin of error is in the whole LOP thing. It would sure open up many more purchase options and less customization if i could roll with 12.5.
The other alternatives are buy a cheap wood stock and cut it down (really not wanting to do this)...
or get one from boyds for $100....
or... are there other options?
Other Info:.243, barnes bullets, VX-I 4-12 Leo, she's almost 5' tall, 95#s, and a strong/athletic kid. Rifles i'm at: T3's, Wby Vanguard, Ruger Amer, Sav 11, Rem M7, etc.
Any help or suggestions about which direction to go would be appreciated. I don't want to be cheap, prefer to spend more to do it right the first time.
Thanks all!
