Savage 110 Mounting Issues
« on: June 20, 2014, 07:46:18 PM »
Today I took my Savage 110 to the Sportman's Warehouse in Federal way. The guy spent probably an hour on it trying different rings and mounts, and eventually he said I need a Picatinny rail, so I looked online and the only question I have is there were two options, a round rear mount, or a flat rear mount. How do I know which one to buy? Thanks in advance, Kyle

Look at the back of the receiver and see if its flat or round.

Probably a stupid question, but where is the receiver located?

Ok well on my gun, the receiver is flat in the back, and round in the front. Now what?

Now just match up the bases you want on it. All of my 110's  (I have 3) and in fact all of our Savages have Weaver Mounts on them. Two with "Tip-Off" mounts and the rest with the standard bases.

I have these Redfield aluminum base pairs that you can have. Located in Olympia.
Both bases have a slight arc to them.

I have a DNZ 1 piece mount in flat black I could sell you for $40. It fits the flat black and is for a long action.
