New partner south puget sound
« on: June 25, 2014, 04:33:59 PM »
Hey guys,

I've been hunting the last few seasons with a good friend that's in the army. He recently moved to his new duty station in Tennessee. So I'm thinking of finding a new partner. I have no issue hunting alone, but really enjoyed the last few seasons with a dedicated partner.

About me.... I'm 31, married, father of 2 boys and a little girl on the way. My boys are 4.5 and 7yrs. I spent some time in the marines, and most of that in the sand box. After that I did a 4 year apprenticeship and I'm now a journeyman power lineman. I didn't grow up hunting, didn't really start till about 5 years ago. A bit of a learning curve when your teaching yourself. But it's coming around. Last year was my first successful season. I got my first black bear! Not huge, but none the less my first. I was and still am pretty proud. I've developed a bit of an obesession  with bear hunting. I've devoted most of my reading time to studying hunting bears. Although I've done some studying for blacktail as well. I'm stoked for this season. Got lots of new info to implement. I got sick of all the road hunters a few years ago and started pushing out further into the woods. This year I'm planning on doing the high hunt in the Olympics. Super excited to get out there for 4-5 days. I'll be backpacking up into the mountains here in the next few weeks to do some more scouting. General season deer and elk I was planning on hitting the costal area again. Lots of good sign out there last year.
I can ruck like a champ and recently got a mountian bike. So getting back in there is a non-issue. I still train like a jarhead... Weights, running, rucking, swimming, biking. I Like to stay in shape and stay ready for the next mission. Wether it be backpacking/pre-season scouting, day hunts, or back country for a week, I'm on board.

If you want to shoot the breeze, or scout, or hunt, let me know. If I can't get a new partner maybe I can make some new friends.

Thanks

Andy
