Helical Fletching vs Angled and Straight

Speaking from first hand experience, my groups tightened up noticeably when I started fletching my own with a Blazer Helical jig.

The grouping results doesn't surprise me at all.  What did surprise me, though, is the Flight Data results.  I didn't expect such a drastic difference in RPMs.  I'm also a bit surprised at how little difference there is in Drag and Retained Energy.  It seems that the main reason people DON'T shoot helical fletchings has been the increase in drag, slowing down the arrow too much.  This would indicate that the concerns of those people aren't valid.

Just flechted up some shafts Friday in helical, and there was a huge difference in flight... for the better. I havent had a chance to shoot through a chrono yet, to see if it in fact adds more drag...

I have shot off set fletching for a while now.. just last week i switched to 3 degree helical and my bow shot tighter groups. i shoot the hha single pin sight and already had my sight tape on.. i did a test to see how much of a difference there would be out to 80 yards and at my surprise the only difference was i had a better group.. No change in the drop or anything!!

Been running offset/ helical for years, never had any issues with getting Broadheads tuned, they always shot the same as my field points. Have had buddies who couldn't get their Broadheads to shoot straight, they shot the exact arrow set up I did except for they had straight fletch and I had offset/ helical . Put their Broadheads on my arrow and they flew like darts with no adjustment needed. Took their arrows and fletched them up on my jig and they never had a problem. They had bought Goldtips and didn't realize that they were fletched with a straight vane. Makes a big difference.

I am getting ready to start fletching and am looking at the az ezfletch.  I think I will stay 2" vanes but never know. 
Is there any issue using the full size rh helical version with the smaller 2"  vanes?  I am thinking it gives me more options, but wanted to ask..

The EZ Mini gives you maximum helical. The longer arms won't.

Thanks refurbished.  Maximum being 3deg, or being more?  My goal is 3 max as I run a while and have been told 3 is about max recommended.

I just shot some arrows i fletched up last night 2in blzrs 3deg helical it made quite a difference in grouping

Been shooting helical since I began 30 years ago.  When I switched to 2" vanes and small diameter Easton Axis arrows, haven't been able to fletch helical.  I just fletched helical 3" vanes on these arrows, but not easy to do.  Has anyone tried the new Bohning stretch fletch vanes, a 2" blazer vane with helical?  I am going to try these next, but will have to go to larger diameter arrows.  The biggest advantage to me shooting helical is how much better fixed blade broadheads fly.  Confidence in shooting broadheads at game is a huge advantage when hunting, and I need all the help I can get.

I shot and fletched Easton Axis shafts for over 2 yrs. I use a Bohning Blazer Helical jig. Adjustable for different shaft diameters and works great other than it's one at a time. I still use it on my Easton Da Torch shafts.
