I think I posted this pic somewhere on here last year, but I like it enough, I'll post it again.
My daughter taking a snack break during our deer hunting adventure last fall... we actually saw several deer and
had a small buck walk within bow range and never knew we were there.  She's a pretty quiet four year old.

I don't know if the picture will show thru, but this is my daughter with her first deer, I drug her along for years with myself and her brothers, and she finally grabbed me and asked for a gun of her own. I've created a monster! But it's great, she's now one of my favorite hunting partners, and I'd rather see my kids successfull and enjoying this heritage than myself. Best thing I ever did was buy her that little Ruger.
My biggest fear is when I die, my wife will sell all my guns for what I said they cost me!     ;)

my wife and I had our 20 week ultrasound last week and we are having a girl!  I moped for a few days because I was really really really really really hoping for a boy. I was freaked out about having a boy chasing shop-a-holic paris hilton wannabee but reading all the posts on this site about everyone and their daughters it has really made me come around and I can honestly say I am pretty stoked.  Her name is gonna be Addison Dawn. :IBCOOL:

Thanks!  kinda bad timing on my part though.  Nov. 20th due date.  Late muzzleloader could be a no go this year.  I have a feeling I won't miss it at all though!

When my wife was in labor with our first child, our son, I kept looking at the clock on the wall hoping he would be born before midnight. If he'd been born after midnight I'd be missing out on the archery deer season opener from then on and hosting birthday parties instead.   Luckily he was born late on Aug. 31st!  Don't tell anybody I was in the delivery room thinking about deer hunting... it's our little secret.   :chuckle:

Trying to get my 11 yr old into it. She wants to bowhunt but is afraid of the loud gunshots. Being thet you have to shoot a gun for hunter safety it has kind of been a deterent for her. I might see if I can get the one year deferal for her just to get her out. I'm also working on the 8 yr old daughter to get her into it.

Both absolutely LOVE venison.

My 16 yr old son has killed 5 deer. His first at 10 on his first day of hunting ever. talk about spoiled   :chuckle:

My daughter was born October 18th (opening weekend of rifle deer).  Now, she gets to celebrate her birthday every year hunting deer w/ Dad.  She'll be 2 this year :)

I was born on Oct 16th, opening day of deer season that year.  About three in the morning my Dad was getting ready to go hunting with my grandpa and a couple uncles, but my Mom said "I think we better go to the hospital"  He missed opening day and everybody else got deer!  The next day he went to help them pack the rest out.  Sorry Dad.   :chuckle:
