2014 Antlerless Permit Dayton (Elk Area 1016)
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:13:48 PM »
Hi,

My wife was fortunate enough to draw an antlerless Elk tag for Dayton: Elk Area 1016.  Does anyone have any contacts we may reach out to for guide/lodging services to help ensure success with her tag?  Thanks in advance for any leads you may have.

JMK

If you cant camp stay at the hotel in dayton. You will not need a guide for a cow , save your money. I will hopefully be tagged out by your season. I will show your wife a cow no problem

Thanks, were going to stay in town, but (Elk Area 1016) seemed a bit far from town.  She can harvest a cow only in a specific portion of the Dayton unit.  Is it fairly close to town?

Elk area 1016 is all the Dayton unit above the national forest bounty. This means you are at a minimum 30 minutes away from hunting  while staying in town.

Ross also knows a guy across the unit that is confident he could help locate a cow.

Yes I do.
Also your cow tag is in a area there is no guiding allowed.  With a few exceptions but I doubt they want to waste their One permit on a cow.  Feel free to contact me or woodchuck

 between the two of our groups we cover some ground. I am assuming this a MF permit?

Yes, this is a MF tag and any help would be awesome.  I will go ahead and book a room in town and reach out you to via email.  Thanks!
