I finally took the plunge, new grill
«

after my trails with coal, i went and bought a nice stovepipe, yep that was it, one minute to have blazin coals. so we took the plunge and bought a beast. have used it every night for 3 days so we dont have to cook in the house. first night was brats, corn, smoked pork n beans, kabobs and a few other goodies. Here is last nights dinner, i tried my first attempt at drunken chicken and slaw. rubbed down, stuffed over some PBR that was also seasoned with fresh garlic cloves & onion and some of the rub. it didnt last long
i am very impressed with its versatility and ability to control the heat so effortlessly. it has a cooking rack in the fire box, a hot pan shelf over the the fire box, and a upper and lower level racks in the cooking box. man itll hold a ton. Forget about it tipping over too its over 250lbs
funny it was sitting next to an electric smoker with a sign on it "Charcoal/stick fired, real men dont need buttons"

i was determined to get away from propane for good, but i just couldnt get the knack for briquettes, the stove pipe starter was the answer
I was so excited to use it we did pulled pork and cilantro lime coleslaw sandwiches for a great lunch today and we just finished eating home made brats and burgers. heck my kitchen stove isnt this consistent with the heat

ya its huge. i figured why not the cheapo small one was $199 and the beast 3x the size was only $299 on sale so we went for it. i could do 12 of the drunk chickens in it easy.

Mine does a great job on smoked chicken, when I'm out working in my shop I slap on a few chickens and they almost cook themselves.

You need to get your butt over here to the Couve so you can cook for me, KC.
