BH45 Finally got my camera out !
« on: July 13, 2014, 09:37:19 PM »
So today I decided to get some batteries and a card and hiked in about 3 miles where I know some big bulls were last year ...I know it is a little early for them to be tearing up the place but I figured what the heck ...50 skeeter bites later but it is set ....Hopefully I get something walking by !!

Well for my very 1st set I guess I did o.k ... I hiked in this morning and picked up my camera ..I had 27 photos in 5 days ... The only thing I did wrong was put the camera to close to the trail ... Most of my pictures they walked up to the camera inches away ..all I got was hair  :yike: :chuckle: :chuckle: but I know they are in there So I think I will wait awhile before I head in there again ..pay attention to the time on my photos ...those elk are moving around well into mid morning ...Most be because it is in a hell hole with a creek running threw it  :dunno: :chuckle:

Can someone tell me how the cameras hold up in the rain ...? I set 2 cameras the other day ..walked about 3 hours in and now it is peeeeesing cats and dogs ..does the water interfere with the lens and taking clear photos or should I shelter them from the rain ??

I've had some blurry photos typically after a bear licks the cam. Few water drops here and there but never really had any issues with rain.

Rain should not affect the cameras.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Water on the lens will result in blurry pictures. Other than that, it shouldn't be an issue.
