Hard to tell boar or sow when the arse is so elevated. But I too would guess sow.  I think the picture is just fine for telling size.  Solid average bear in my opinion.  Would like to see it head on for a better guess though.

I would say decent sized sow, back end looks to have some size and weight to it. I would call it a shooter size wise.

I'd say the pics fine too...   You can see the entire bear broadside..  You guys need him next too a measuring tape or something?

We used to call bear that size "Two Question" Bear.  Not big enough to instantly tell a shooter the "Take Him!"  But definitely big enough to say, "You like him?  You want him? ...Take him!"

That size bear does shrink quite a bit in the time it takes to get from shooting position to field dressing position.  But, I think few regret making the decision to shoot.  While large bear are simply awe inspiring!  Even average bear are exciting!  And with two tags in this state, why not :dunno:
