Are they really here?
« on: July 30, 2014, 11:01:14 AM »
So I decided to head further east to make an attempt to hunt for horns..I'm sure there are plenty of you here that have hated to leave your spot, but it's time....the 328 is going to be a mess this year.  Anyway, I decided to head over to the 117...looks like they've done alright over the last few years.  Went turkey hunting this spring/  scouting for the elk...saw a whole lot of moose!! the 117 is a HUGE area and I live 8 hours away..am I wasting my time or can one actually spend some time over there and find them?  Add usual disclaimer here about honey holes and the like.  Help is much appreciated. I know..4 weeks out and all but the summer didn't pan out the way I anticipated..  Thanks guys, in advance.

There is elk and it can be great if you find them. Being new to coming over here I would sugget spending alot of nights out listening and sleeping during mid day. Cruise roads and look for elk tracks follow them and you sooner or later are going to get into elk or find areas they frequent
