Big water shake down and some Kings.
« on: August 03, 2014, 06:24:27 PM »
Took the new boat to Westport today for my first time in the big pond.

After going with Buckhorn2 a few times and learning the basics from him and ocean fishing techniques, I went solo  :fishin:

Picked up two kings but that's it  :dunno: Lost a few others, but that's fishing  :bash:

I gotta say, this was an excellent being out there and learned a lot about boating in the ocean, more then I thought i would.

Any ways, didn't get any silvers, or sea bass, and only picked up 3 legal crabs after a 6 hr soak. Oh well, thats fishing  :brew:

Here is the Kings we got, 25lb and 18lb.

Nice kings. We were outside long beach today and wound up with 6 keeper silvers in 2 1/2 hours released 5 at the boat and 4 more got off. Also pulled  some pots and got 26 crab.

Nice fish! Way to go! Feels good to get fish in your boat for sure. I got a couple kings in the Columbia this weekend and it felt great!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!
