Staying a couple nights in Quincy for work. Is there anywhere not too far from town I could go do some fishing after work? Largemouth ponds or trout or anything?

Quincy Lakes are probably your best bet. Head south out of Quincy toward I-90 and turn right at the golf course. That's White Trail Road. the access to the lakes area is the left off of the first curve you come to. lots of seep lakes below the main lakes, too. Watch for snakes!

Found the fish! All small but had a 3-4 pound bass chase my bait. Found a rattle snake too! Would love to come back and fish their again!

Glad you had a good time. It's a neat area. I never fished the big lakes, but I did flyfish a small pothole down on the west side of the road, and hiked and hunted the Ancient Lakes area.

Yeah it's definetly an interesting place. I was keeping my eyes open for snakes steeped up on a rock that was in the trail and the snake was just on the other side of it and shot under a bigger rock. About a 2 footer. Made me jump lol.
