I just seen these on CL. Thought they were pretty neat for maybe night fishing catfish.

There great joke rod holders. When your buddy isnt looking just grab the rod and sound the alarm. Lots of fun!

I have a pair of those to use while anchor fishing and/or  plunking for salmon and steelhead. They work well on those lazy days when your dosing off while waiting for a bite.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

Saw some older guys during Springer season, they go in the cab and sleep til alarm went off.  We couldn't figure out what the noise was at first...  I guess they worked for them...

 :yeah:

Ditto watching guys next to us in the hog line on the Columbia.  Seemed to work for them with the one takedown they got.  For what it's worth a cheaper solution ... I (bank) night fished many years for catfish in Oklahoma.  I simply pulled some slack in the line between two guides about mid-pole (almost to the ground) and hung a light bobber - the kind with a spring hook - on the line.  Very easy to see even the lightest bite.  Since it slipped through the line easy I never had a problem landing a fish.  The bobber hitting the pole was enough to wake me if I was ever to doze off.  Not saying I fell asleep now, mind you.
