Garmin rino 530 repair?
« on: July 29, 2014, 02:59:42 PM »
Hey y'all, I have a rino 530 that doesn't work so well due to the antenna coming off from the base. Garmin no longer repairs these so I'm wondering what other options are out there? Thanks for the input.

OK, you definitely have a hardware issue here as a reset should have cleared any software glitch.

Garmin has a very good flat rate repair on this unit for 130 dollars. This is a good price as the unit still sells used for over 300.

Call here for shipping instructions.........

1-800-800-1020

Turnaround is usually a couple of weeks.

Take care.

Are you confident that Garmin will repair a Rino 50? I was told these were not repaired by Garmin?

Yes they still should repair them. Call the number above. They list some Rino's as repairable and some as not on their website, but with alot of units they don't actually repair they will offer replacements.

Give them a call, they will work with you, they have decent customer service.

Keep me posted, I like to keep track of these things.

I have identical issues with mine. Garmin usually takes better care of their customers but this time they suck. I know of two other 530's with the same situation.

Mine was working find but comming appart at the base of the antenna.  I called Garming and their solution was to put rubber cement on the base and glue it back together.

I tried it 2 yrs ago and its still holding.
