« on: August 11, 2014, 08:32:12 AM »
Just out of curiosity how long should it take a shop even when they have to order the strings to get a bow restrung, new peeps, set draw weight to 55lb? price? Local shop has had my bow for 2 1/2 weeks now....Normal? bow season starts in 2 flippin' weeks and I'm getting alittle nervous!   :dunno:

I would think that once they have the string it would only take an hour max to get everything installed on it.

Perhaps the string maker has a huge backlog and is behind?

Local shop? Carnation?
2.5 weeks seems like a long time.

Not pointing fingers, just asking, why did you wait till this late to have this work done? I know a lot of shops that are behind right now because season is so close and everyone procrastinated.

Busy time of year for string manf. and shops. Winners Choice is 7 day turn around in the slow times now that they are down south and no longer in John Day. Not sure what type of string you ordered but thats an example. Have you talked to the shop about their progress? Maybe the wrong strings came in or maybe the center serving wasn't correct, both of which would require them to send the strings back and delay your bow.  :dunno:
Shut up and Hunt!

Noticed my bow wasn't as consistent as it normally was and it felt like it had loosened up some, tried to scale it but kept coming up with 46-51 lbs. I know it was last minute but the guy assured me it could get done. got off the phone with him earlier and he said the strings should be in any day now....I guess another guy had a bow in shop after mine and he was trying to get both strings shipped at once. not sure how much it costs to ship strings these days but I guess its enough to put a hold on an order! Hopefully for the shops sake my bow is done by Friday.

2 weeks is about right for a month before the season.

Yep exactly, got my bow back and yes just took the string supplier longer than expected. Happy with the Job and price, place is Bigg Dogg firearms in North Bend, Mike that runs it is a good guy, could have kept me alittle more up to date on it but I'm one of those worry worts that always needs to know how my gun or bow is coming along.
