heres my O8 buck
« on: December 07, 2008, 10:08:20 PM »
shot this guy on halloween right after having a crown put in my mouth.  We got wet as heck.  Sorry about the bad pict.

I had not seen a buck all season and had a any deer tag for the mossyrock unit.  I saw alot of does but could not bring myself to shoot a doe with fawns well, thats all I saw, does with fawns.  I have shot alot of bucks on halloween so I decided after my 6:40 dentist appt. the husband and I were going for a walk   We hit the woods at 7:30. I hunt on private property so there was no road hunting involved, about 30 min. into our hike we saw a doe, scope fogged up and it was flat pouring rain could not see a thing.  doe ran off.  We were drenched, I have never been so wet, and numb ( the whole left side of my mouth). Stepped into a clearcut and the husband whispers STOP!  Looked over and saw a doe   as I was trying to dry my binocs the husband was searching for fawns.
I looked back up and 10 feet behind the doe I saw a grey nose.  Put my scope up and saw antlers. so what would you do buck-doe-buck-doe I chose buck.  I shot once he did not seem like he was hit he just kept following the doe. He must have smelled us because he stood his front legs up on a stump and looked at us at 40 yards so the husband said shoot again so I did, this time he reared up and fell over backwards.  I still had to go to work so we took the buck out whole because the husband thought the way I hit it there could be a mess inside.  I took the deer home in the back of my truck and left it by the shop, went in to take a shower and then went to work.  I have the best husband, he had the day off hung my deer and gutted it for me while I was at work. Gotta love the Guy.   In the end I hit him both times I shot
