Man, what is bringing them down?(besides steel shot) Lots of birds in the air but, really struggling to bring them down for a closer look. Got a few in passing but, nothing would lock up and drop in.....Used a smallish spread 2 dozen...fringed on the ice with a corn field that came almost down to the water....Couldn't get anything to drop in to even take a look. A guy down the way had about 5 dozen out and was a much better on the calls than me and they only brought down 2 or 3 birds....Birds were flying around us all day.

BTW: I was hunting west of Moses Lake on some private ground with a good sized lake...I thought it would have been a slam dunk...Happy

Sounds like a great time spur, shoot em in the face!

Not sure what you're doing that the birds aren't liking Happy. Have you tried adding some motion to your dekes? Maybe a jerk string. We've been running one, and only calling to get the birds' attention or to bring em back when they start to peel off. Then some feeders and soft quacks when they're on the corners. My cousin hunted last weekend at a hunt club, and they let some groups work with no calls and he said they came right in to just the dekes.
