GMU 388
« on: August 29, 2014, 01:00:35 AM »
Can anyone tell me when they usually lift the fire danger closer in the public timber area? I wanted to scout this area this weekend but its closed. Is there other access points or do I just have to wait it out?

Typically it gets enough rain to open back up around modern deer season or a week before the opener. There are a bunch of access areas but it doesn't matter, the timber land is all closed.

The best time to scout the 388 is durring and after the modern season, you will see some deer but most show up later in Oct/November.  Migration in the northern part of the unit (WTP lands) .:twocents:

Ok thanks guys! Appreciate the comments. I called the Biologist today and she confirmed what aer212 said about getting rain.
