Well, the girlfriend and i went out to look for some bear yesterday. We took off out of easton and had never been toward stampede pass before so we set out in that direction. Not knowing any roads or any idea of where we wanted to go we just let the Montana 650t lead us the way. We set out the 41 road and took that for awhile untill we came to an intersection and headed toward tacoma pass on road 411 and then continued onto road 52, and then another turn on 5220. Not knowing how much further we wanted to go and we just kept looking at the scenery and kept the tires moving. We came to one lookout point where the PCT came right through and was very cool to see. We fallowed the 5220 till it ended and hiked around the timber for a bit and and see much for bear sign but did see some good bull tracks and some nice thick draws that look like they would hold the game. I didnt realize how thick and steep that country is! Didnt see any bears or much of any sign but all in all saw some beautiful country and had a good time out in the woods. After doing some research on here for the stampede unit it looks like the bears are few and far between but they are there. Maybe next time we will head across I90 and up the hill.
