I had a Grizzly and sold it to buy a Can am. You don't remember that when I pulled out yours with the Can am ?

I was a Yamaha owner, but its a no brainer when you can buy a 650 cc with 62 HP, (the 700 yamaha  produces 45.6 HP), with power steering, lockers, and three times the warranty!  For two thousand dollers less.   Easy decision every time.

For the first time in many yr=ears the Barbie Jeep is staying home this hunting season and Im taking the Ranger.

can-am 650 is about 200lbs heavier than the 700 grizz

can-am is $800 cheaper than the grizz  (*msrp)

For power I don't care about overall HP in a 4x4 utility type hunting ATV,  I care how it's delivered and how much torque it has and even more important..economy.  I hate packing fuel.
Another thing I like about the grizz is that grunt it has, no need to wait for the engine to spin up and clutch to engage, it's right there off the bottom and will pop them front tires sky high in about 12 inches of forward travel, really nice for taking the weight off the front end to get up a log/rock/obstacle.

That 200lbs is really important when you're floating on top of snow, mud and heaving your ATV over a log or obstacle.   I can pop my front wheels over a log then get off and push the ATV over the rest of the way.  Add 200 more lbs and I couldn't do it.  I could use a smaller ATV but then I wouldn't climb some of the big sandy hills I need to climb then.

I'm yet to be convinced there is another ATV that does a better job than a grizz at riding through tough country.  This last winter I went for a ride with a bunch of guys and no one could float across the sugar snow, they'd high center and I'd literally ride circles around them.   Their machines were heavy, they had crap loaded in the boxes making them heavier yet.  I went light and stayed on top.

brakes - not sure how can-am braking system is but I really detest Polaris brakes.  Give me independent front and rear brakes and I'll slide down off stuff another machine would topple you on.  I hope Yamaha never goes away from motorcycle style braking with nothing but rider controlling it.   No ABS, no front rear linked single lever brakes for me!

This beast goes anywere! I use it to go down the jeep trails to get away, then hoof it from there. Lockers front and rear, 34 TSL's, geared down Tcase, full cage, race seats, harnesses ect.

I will tell you the Sami is direction I am going when I have the money.

1. I can pull behind my truck.
2. Street legal so I can take it anywhere with any issues
3. I can be locked with a hard top so my things inside are some what secure.
4. I am out of the weather.

I would love to have a Willys one day. We had a wagon as a kid and we tooled that thing all over. Always got to sit on the back gate driving up in the mountains which was the best as a kid.

The number of Samurais surprises me but I always knew they were solid rigs. Saw a nice one today up the Entiat as a matter of fact, funny to see this post after thinking about it earlier today.

A great upgrade is adding the Old man Emu leafs. A little more lift but the ride is fantastic! Those stock flat leafs suk ash! You wont believe the difference.
