My son and I have tried and tried the sound but my 12' boat is too difficult to handle and fish effectively. We've tried trolling, drifting, and mooching. He landed his first salmon this year, a 9lb blackmouth. He really wanted to go over 10lbs but it's just not going to happen this year I don't think. We've retired the 12' boat to fresh water only after today.
Next year, I would like to be able to get us on to a boat for a couple of trips to put some salmon in the freezer. Both of us have very good sea legs and I'm all for pulling my own weight and putting in for gas/bait/food/whatever. We have our own gear, poles, reels, and some tackle. If you think you'd be able to open up a couple of seats for a trip, shoot me a PM.
