Looks like my season is screwed!!!

This year has been crazy since June.  With all the nice weather work has been really busy.  Climbing towers replacing old repeater site buildings with new ones, get to fly some buildings in the week after next.  Got to get out on a fire for 9 days.  So didn't get any scouting in other then Google earth.  I did get my bow pretty well tuned in.  New pack and it is all setup up ready to go.  Now for the even better news today.  Last week while standing our talking with fire crew my knee locked up.  Not uncommon for me.  I went to go bend it and big pop.  Again nothing uncommon for me.  The problem was the pretty good pain that went along with it.  The pain hasn't gone away either.  Saw my doc today and he is pretty sure is messed up some cartilage in my knee.    awesome!!!.  Got a date with a ortho doc the 24th.   The soonest they could get me in.  I got a brace a good drugs.  I got some places I can still hunt locally without killing myself on the hills.  The last couple of years I haven't seen many hunters in this area which surprises me but I think it might be different this year.  Good luck to everyone to the start of the season either Monday or Tuesday.  May your arrow fly straight and sound towards whatever your target may be and your tracking is short.

I feel for ya-I tore my Achilles tendon couple of weeks ago.  Two months at least on crutches with a boot.  Murphys law dictates these type of things always have crappy timing.

Sometimes having your mobility limited pays off! When I was in high school I broke my ankle playing football two weeks before the hunting season.  I hobbled on crutches about a half a mile out to a spot over a waterhole, and sat there long enough to shoot a nice three point .  The hard part for me was being patient as I love spot and stalk.

  If you can still move very slowly or get to a decent spot to sit then you might be good to go.

Get a WDFW hunting disabled placard from the WDFW. Very simple to get and worth it if you have mobility issues. Hell, I got one in 2 weeks or less.

Ain't that the truth! Found out yesterday I need to have hernia surgery. Doc recommends I not wait til after the season.

i hope you get better soon. i got a infection in my colon and ive missed at least two weeks from work. thats two year's in a row something has happened before the season last year i had surgery on my left hand and 18 stitche's. my hand is healing well. will need at least another 6 months before it is healed fully. age is catching up with me i guess. good luck to every one!

I am going to do my best.  Need to fill my freezer for this year.  Or at least put some meat in the freezer.  I agree with the Murphy's law for sure.

Made my day a little brighter.  Brought home a new addition to the family.  A six week old female lab.  Missed having an animal around the house.
