Cabela's Sporterized Hawken how hard to find?
« on: May 11, 2015, 04:49:58 PM »
Dont have the finances at this time but I have wanted one of these since the first day I held one. I have heard a lot of good things about them. I have an inline but want a Hawken style as well and I love the looks and handling of these. Since they dont make them anymore are they hard to find?

a nice muzzy but a real pain in the rear end as the powder channel hole is drilled very small and sub powders like pyrodex, american pioneer, t7, block up and it misfires constantly. My dad has one but I got him and inline so he has a better chance at it going off.

Goex works flawless as it flows smoothly and is easy to ignite. If sub powders are all you can get... Look at a different rifle because they are a pain in the butt.

They are on gun broker all the time. I have saved search for the investarms hawken and there are four of them right now.  I also own one and it shoots app 3f really well.

I'd like to throw my 2cents in. I've owned my T/C Hawkens for 30+ yrs and it's never failed to go BOOM on a critter. Most of the times target shooting that it didn't go off was my fault. I shoot pyrodex and don't find any problems with it. There are a few steps that if you take them a Hawkens is about a reliable as they get. The 1st and most important thing to always do is check to make sure you don't already have a load in the rifle then pop at least a half dozen caps (they're cheap) on it to make sure you have cleared all oil/moisture out from your last cleaning then load er up.

No way I'd ever give up my HAWKENS
