Yes, he missed but he nailed it at 96 yards. After 20 days in the field that hunt seemed pretty difficult to get into ethical bow range...40yrds. Good thing he was practicing at greater distance.

96 yards defeats the whole purpose of why I bow hunt.

Im very surprised they would even tell us he was shooting 120 yds. Usually they would say it was a 60 yard shot when it was actually 120yards......... maybe it was really 240  :yike:

Interesting.... My measure of being a bow hunter isn't how far I can kill an animal, it is how close I can kill an animal.

Regardless how much he practiced at those ranges, that ram could've walked to town and back before that arrow got to him. All in the name of a good tv show, right??

So with that thought, the ram has more of a chance at 120 yards to walk completely clear of the arrow? Where as at, say 40 yards, he has more of a chance of wounding it? Not saying that anyone in their right mind should shoot that far, but an animal can take a step at any distance that could have an outcome on the shot.
