Muley doe with quadruplets?
« on: September 06, 2014, 03:20:32 PM »
So I went out today for some scouting/bear hunting and early this morning I came upon a muley doe with 4 fawns standing in the road. They only stood there for a couple seconds before bolting up the ridge so I wasn't able to snap a photo sorry. This is the 1st time I've ever seen quadruplets.  Lots of triplets but never quadruplets.  They all were exactly the same size and all. Now I do realize and thought to myself that maybe this doe had twins and the other 2 are possibly orphans she adopted but I'm going to hold on to the thought that they are all brothers and sisters on the account that I'm sure quadruplets are rare and I've never seen them til now lol!      :chuckle:   Has anybody else ever seen quadruplets?

I have quads that were on my trail cam several times. First time I can recall or know for sure there wasn't another doe tagging behind. Muleys, I'm talking.

Alright yeah right on! I know there's no definite way of knowing for sure that they are indeed quadruplets because there could be on number of circumstances why there was 4 but that's good to know somebody else's seen them so that I know I'm not completely crazy lol!

A Muley Doe will care for other fawns other than hers. It is very common on the Eastside to see does with 3 or more fawns in tow.

Yeah I realize that, this isn't my 1st time being around muleys. And yes that may be the case but this situation was different than most!
