Ambers First Branch Bull!!

What a awesome day.... hunted hard all morning and had some elk talking to us in some reprod between a cut and a steep hill/creek. I set up on the egde of the cut about 90 yrds above the flat and amber went a little ways into the reprod. We could hear elk walking around and they would chirp at us every now and again... we set up and called for over 2 hrs. I hear a twig break and this guy walks up into the cut from the timber across the creek... he comes up to 85 yrds and beds down on the edge of the cut! amber snuck down and it took almost 90 min for her to get in and get a shot. She smoked him at 40 yrds and he ran out into the cut.... he stopped at 82 yards. head down..blood pouring out.. he was dead but if you can get a shot.. take it.. so I whacked him.. that is the other arrow you see.... he ran off and fell in the wallow where he died... we walked up on him taking his last breaths but amber put one more in him to end it even faster.... amazing hunt.. awesome to watch her shoot her first branch bull!! she is a amazing hunter and the stalk she did was great... I am not even sure I would have killed him if it was me.... We actually got a double yesterday as my buddy was one timber patch over and killed a bull that looks like a twin of this one about an hour after she killed hers. Those 2 make 7 bulls in 2 years out of this area for archery/ML/Rifle.

Now thats a GREAT day!! Nice stalk and good job on the follow up shot. Nice dark rack with double eye guards.  :tup:

thanks, he was dead on the first arrow but I will admit it was fun to stick him as well.... glad I had a 80 pin  :)
