Browning Maxus
« on: September 14, 2014, 09:21:11 AM »
Anyone have experience with the Browning Maxus? I want a shotgun that will for sure eject target loads for dove/quail and sporting clays, but be able to shoot heavy waterfowl loads as well. I hear the Maxus is at the top with the finest Beretta and Benelli offerings. Looking for reviews from folks here, $1200 is a lot to spend so I want some reviews.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

I have a friend that has one and he likes it a lot. I am partial to benellis and the inertia system myself though. Never had a problem with ejecting target loads from my m2 or another buddy's sbe.

I own a maxus and love it. I have shot over a thousand of target loads through it and close to that with steel 3" or 3 1/2" loads. Everything from sub zero temps to 100+ temps, rain and snow to blowing dust and never once had a problem. Everyone in my hunting group has gone to them. I have quite a few shotguns and this is my favorite. I can't say a bad thing about Benellis. I just like the balance and feel of the Maxus better. I have witnessed a lot of Berettas jam in extreme conditions when the Benellis and Brownings never have.  :twocents:

Nice! Shotgun fit is probably the most important factor in how a gun shoots for you. Hope you knock down a bunch of birds with it.

You can’t go wrong with a Maxus.  Just make sure that you shim it to fit you.
