arrggg!
« on: December 11, 2008, 01:36:04 PM »
very slow (calm before the storm) type of day but to top it off i couldent shoot, lol
--first group of mallards passed by at 20 yards!!! i pulled on the lead bird, thought to myself "dead duck" pulled the trigger and "click" bolt was not closed all the way :dunno:
--next group flew by as i was taking a pee :bdid:
--next group actually hit a drake 2 times and dident even think he would be able to
make it 100 yards but he somehow found a way to fly off into the distance :'(
--after that had groups of 3-4 coming and sitting down 60 yards away from me and
looking at me like "how u doing" before hearing someone else shoot and taking off :bash:
over all furstrating hunt but this weekend should be beater hopefully

i was at wylie slough, and i get to go back tomorow too, this time with elliott so between the two of us we should be able to hit something, pheasant season ended the end of november for us over here so its all duck hunter vs. duck hunter now :IBCOOL:

Where is this slough?
There was a notice at Smith that there is a late pheasant season till Dec 15, no releases.

its in conway, from the freeway take fir island road for just under 2 miles then take a left on mann road and follow that, there is a sign that says public hunting when u get to mann road, and im not a huge pheasent hunter so i wouldent take my word for it i just know that the end of november was the end (for a while at least) dont know if there r any extra seasons or not :dunno:

:yeah: its a good spot to hunt but i would suggest going there during daytime and just walking around with your gun so you can get the idea cuz it is basicly like 10 or so flooded fields next to the sound
