I dont see where its necessarily taking away our gun rights.  Any of our rights lost is chipping away one at a time.  I dont want to have to go through extra steps of BS to reload for my Weatherby 300 mag, or anything else.  If no one stood up for gun rights I can guarantee they'd be gone in no time.  ITs that same thinking that got the gun ban in Illinois and Washington DC.  Standing up and saying something got the rights back in DC.  So doing nothing in complacency, and not a way to get or keep your rights.

I emailed them about a friend that got killed with a hammer.  I suggested they start a hemmer registration company.  I had another friend killed with a 40 oz Old English bottle.  Maybe the same can be done for glass bottles.

What a bunch of crap that ammo accountability.

Those Anti's are attacking us from all sides.

Lead ban issues
gun sale taxes are predicted to go up
lead poisoning in animals killed by a bullet
ammo accountability
reinstatement of Bill Cliton's 1994 gun ban (in the works)
Veterans Disarmament Act (HR2640)
Greg Nickles trying to ban guns in Seattle owned property.

Maybe we should go hunting (research for info) for Anti's and expose them for what they really are, (stupid people)
Progressives are coming for your guns.
What are you going to do?

Well me, I do not have any guns, gave away or sold them 15 years ago.

Why don't the politicians start being held accountable for selling our country away instead of trying to hold honest citizens accountable for a few bullets?

Them son of bit**es voted themselves a raise and want to talk about accountability!  >:(

Here's the link: http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

I printed and read the bill to be read in Olympia and it's totally outrageous that our House of Reps would even consider the idea of limiting access to ammo because they can't further limit access to firearms.

Don't let this bill pass because of the "passer-by" syndrome.  If you don't call your Legislators who will?  Tell your friends.  Tell your family.  Call the local gun shop.  Call the local sportsman's club.  Do whatever it takes to kill this bill dead.

Go to: http://www.leg.wa.gov and contact your legislators.  There's even a handy-dandy thingy to help you find out who your legislators are and how to go about contacting them.

If this bill passes there won't be a reason to try to ban firearms.  We won't have any ammo for them!

EH

This bill 3359 is dead !  I posted in another thread my reply from Mr Hewitt... I will attach again.

Cameron, Thank you for contacting me; I appreciate your thoughts. I am a gun owner, NRA member, sportsman, and I have always been a strong 2nd amendment supporter during my tenure in the legislature.Fortunately, this bill never even received a public hearing last session, so I did not have the chance to vote against it. Occasionally, bills are introduced to stimulate discussion on a topic, and while issues of gun control usually draw a lot of attention, they have a difficult time getting through the bicameral legislative system. If I can be of any further service, please call. Best, Mike(360) 786-7630

I am not saying that ist not good to contact your reps, in fact I reccomend it !   But the bill not on the books at the moment.

This will never happen.

It is a private company out of Seattle (http://www.ammocoding.com/index.php) that is trying to push this through. They couldn't get the ammo manufacturers behind the idea, so they tried getting legislation to do it instead.

For one, the ammo makers would have to keep a database of each numbered box and where it went. They make billions of rounds a year. Not gonna happen. Then retailers would have to keep a database of who bought what box. Not going to happen. Finally the state would have to keep another database at a huge cost. Not going to happen with all the budget cuts going on.

Of course the guys that came up with this idea will charge a licensing fee for EACH BULLET with this stamped on it, so they would get incredibly rich overnight.

If you want to give the company a piece of your mind, there is a Contact Us button on the page I linked to above.
Thanks for posting this information. I hope they have a parent company that is involved in some other type of business(es) that we could boycott!

How can you boycott something like this?  This is like Pet Turds Inc, who's going to buy it anyway unless someone makes you?

Their mailbox is full...  Maybe they already abandoned ship.  I doubt it though.  THey probably applied for  apatent and then tried to srtart gaining momentum on a serialized bullet to get rich quick.

"This was a bill introduced in the House during the previous legislative session, which ended last March (http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/summary.aspx?bill=3359&year=2007 ).

This bill didn't get a hearing last session.  I don't know whether it will even be reintroduced this year or make it to the Senate for a vote.

Darlene"

This is the email I got today.

Doesnt mean they wont try to get it passed again.  It kind of sucks that laws that are repeatedly shot down are repeatedly introduced.
