Fishing has been good around the Ringold area.  The fish are in great shape!  We have been fishing for about 2 hours each night and have been hooking at least 3-4 a night.  Getting them in the net with barbless hooks and friends that don't salmon fish much, that is a different story.

This Vernita king fishery is all new news to me. Is that area of the river fishable with a 21' glass boat with a merc I/O? My boat is a Glastron, basically a newer bayliner discovery cuddy cab type hull design. How long does the fishing last and would my boat be suitable for the area? :dunno: Thanks for any info provided.

It might be tough with a I/O. The launch's are bad to say the least at Vernita but you might be able to. With that boat you have to have 4 wheel drive on those round river rocks. They can't improve the launch because it is Indian historical land. The water fluctuates a lot each day, on Saturday we had trouble launching a 20 ft. aluminum boat. If you are able to launch you should probably stay above the bridge and fish with the downrigger folks. If you go down river you should try to find a map, there is coyote rapids and hard to tell shallow spots. Flashers and brads cut plugs in mountain dew, lemon lime, or hot tamale's.
A smart dog will bring 2 beverages to save a trip to the fridge!

I have seen I/O there, seen one yesterday. But I don't think I'll be bringing mine there. If you do..... Stay above the farthest upriver launch.
