My last shorthair got on nicely with the Avery neoprene coat, and he liked to swim in glacial rivers in the Winter (Sauk, Skagit.)

I also would bring fleece for him to lay on and put over him in the boat though, and would dry him off from time to time.

I've read others with versatile breeds have got on nicely with the Cabelas coats as well.

If that's still not enough, a DD guy in AK has shared that he'll place a Howling dog running coat underneath the neoprene coat:  http://howlingdogalaska.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=29&products_id=91
