Question about if its legal to shoot here
« on: October 15, 2014, 01:37:52 PM »
I was wondering if it is legal to shoot a deer on this big open cut property off of highway 165/Carbonado South Prarie Rd just south of the Buckley Chevron.  There is a big open cut field that is owned by the Peoples State Bank of Illinois.  It is on the east side of hwy 165 south of the Buckley Chevron and  before the Hwy ends. There is a dirt roadthat goes through there with a gate at the entrance. The road is called Burnit Coalmine Rd.
The crossroad would be Hwy 165 and 147th st se

Yeah, sounds like you need to contact the bank that owns the property for permission.  My guess is that it is a foreclosure.  Shoot, ask them how much they want for the property, buy it, and then invite HuntWA to hunt there with you. ;)

no signs saying other wise go for it.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Great advice, anyone who doesn't have any "No Hunting" signs up should expect people to show up on opening day with their rifle.  Come on, are you serious?! :bash:

YES if its open no real fence or tore down no house or cabin within a 100yds or so YES.
:bash: :bash: :bash: all you want BUT yes if it's open and not posted then yes. I live around a lot of territory like that usually wheat fields and see tons of people park and walk up in some small draw or cover and hunt birds and or deer so :bash: all you got :bash: :bash:

landowners don't have to post their property and that attitude will get you in trouble around here.

Whoa......Legitimate question and all have been legitimate answers except for one.  I am sure the poster gets the point and if he doesn't then he will have to pay the piper when he gets caught.

Keep it civil everyone.

csaaphill, where in the state do you live?

Maybe people are tougher on land access here on the westside, especially in a place so close to the city.
