Looks like rain for east side most of this week through next.

I saw that too and had some questions about what that means for elk behavior. I'm a noob and going on my first hunt this weekend in eastern Washington and have gained some valuable info from this forum and other sources. I also saw that the freezing level is around 5-6k ft. Does the rain and cooling temperatures change an elks behavior? If so, from what to what?

Not asking for honey holes...those are hard earned and not to be given away so easily. I'm just trying to eliminate some areas that elk (most likely) wouldn't be in because of rain and cooling temps.

Unless we get a bunch of snow they will be down in the thick nasty stuff.

I would go to where you have scouted and are the most comfortable. I have had lots of Elk move and been very successful in blue bird weather. Have the other hunters work for you, stay put and wait if you have an area that feels good to you.

I just can't wait to get over there and put a few miles on a day with the wife and just relax and not be at work. The 12-14 hour days have started at work.
