Beavertail boat blind
« on: October 21, 2014, 09:32:41 AM »
Anybody have any experience with one of these blinds on there boat. How do you like it? This would be a big investment for me to put into my boat. But would love to put a good blind on.
My thought on this is it would be easier to fold up and down for during to hunt for going and retrieving birds and transporting down the road. What I have now I have to put every sheet of grass on and take off before and after the hunt.
Thinking with it fully enclosed before light I can put a small heater in it and help keep a little bit of winter weather from getting us as cold.
And thinking it will shield a bit of rain and wind.
What's your thoughts

It depends on the boat... we have a cabelas northern flight blind on my 17ft. boat with the added windblocker material and quick-flip top.  It took a day to build, but it works great.  Provides complete concealment.  Comes on and off the boat quickly for fishing trips because it attaches with only 4 c-clamps.  We also have a small beavertail sneak boat with the small beavertail blind but we haven't hunted it yet so I can't comment on it yet.  Seems ok though.

Took mine out last week and it worked great. A few mods needed for sure.. can be hard to get in and out of but doable. I have the 1800 size on my 2070cc lowe and fits well. assembly was easy and worked perfect out of box. I bought a roll of grass from Home Depot attached and it and it folds down nicely with just ends hanging out.
Trailered to Pot holes and bombed over going 75mph and held up great with no issues. A couple straps and bungies. we forgot to put cover on it that it comes with. mostly water proof and a small heater is all that would be needed. I am looking forward to many good, dryer and warmer hunts as well.
Hope this helped
