Ebey island duck blind torn down.

Did Washington state fish and game really tear down a public duck blind? Ebey islands back blind is in pieces and a new sign on the gate that says no blinds. I truly hope it wasn't our game department that did this.... Will be calling the local wdfw office first thing Monday morning.

And had the "builders" of that blind try to run me out because it was "their spot"so tge set up 35' away, thanks guys....

 We hunted that spot for years, and after all the yahoos moved the last few years the birds avoided that spot. And others out their.

I have packed my fair share of garbage out of there too. Sad to see a public hunting opportunity taken from us. You talk about that blind being a magnet for sky busters and others who can't hunt with respect. You say good, just remember they all just lost their spot and will be moving on to your next spot. I understand your point but feel you are looking at it the wrong way. A blind that has been there for years and wasn't hurting anybody should have stayed. Great place to take kids to sit up out of the water and have a shot at a bird or two. Most importantly, it was another opportunity for hunting, regardless of how many birds came through there.

     Never hunted there but why not take some camo netting, grass and brush it up and make ur own blind each time you go. I do that where I hunt. Just need to show up a little earlier than normal

That Blind had only been their for a year or so, lots of ways to buld a quick temp blind that works, just like piles of shotgun shells, built blinds seem to attract a lot of attention, less people "hunting" their would make better hunting for those who did need a good spot to take a kid. I hunt mostly private land, the real loss is not a blind being torn down, it's land and spots being taken by unethical littering hunters, who idolize the waterfowl stars on TV, who's "hunting style" educates birds & ruins oppertunitys for others.

  I posted multiple locations on our farm in eastern wa due to the amount of garbage ect I found at the end of the season, before that they were open to the public, that's a reall loss, blinds are temp and can be rebuilt but those who bully other hunters, litter, or sky blast at everything, those are responsible for the loss of access.and quality hunting oppertunitys.

Which blind are you referring to?  The blind at the edge of the trees was still there Saturday.  It, and the others, are (were) in disrepair and not even safe. 

They should be removed or maintained, not left for the elements to batter and leave loose boards, exposed nails and rusty wire ends strewn about for dogs and hunters to step on.

I haven't hunted there since the game department ruined it by making it a pheasant release site.

  The word I heard was that last season there was some issues beyond the trash being left (which included empty beer cans).  I guess there was a fight over the blind.  Followed by complaints to WDFW.  Briam Boehm of WDFW made the call to remove the blind. 

  As others have said, taking a little netting out with you to set up a temp blind will be lightweight and real easy.

Yes the one in the back of the property by the tree line. It looks like they came in and just ripped apart the back of it, realized it was more work than they wanted and left everything sprawled out in pieces. If it was such a hazard, they should have removed completely or left it alone.
