Northeast corner deer hunt question
« on: October 25, 2014, 01:14:44 PM »
Hello i was just wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on how to hunt these whitetails up in the colville area for late season and where would be a good place to go, as the areas that i have been going to over the years haven't produced even a sighting of a buck thanks. You can pm me with the areas you suggest that would be great, any information will be greatly appreciated as i am trying to get a deer for my dad since he hasn't got one in over 20 years because of ongoing medical issues and just being plain unlucky.

My best piece of advice is that if you aren't seeing deer in your current area, take some time hunting new areas not only looking for deer but looking for sign. If you find an area with some sign, find a spot to sit or hang a stand of something and wait. Patience is key to hunting whitetails up there.

More sitting, little walking. If your hunting in a relatively new area, look for activity, scrapes, used trails etc. set up before daylight, stay as long as u can, then do the same in the late afternoon. Seems to work pretty well.

Knock on some farmer doors...they are alot more deer near ag areas and alot of farmers will let you hunt.

Ill PM you a farm you can go ask with large timber behind huge fields.

rut should be kicking in pretty good by the time you get there. Should be a fun hunt. Again my best advice is to try to find travel routes with sign and then pick a spot with the wind in your favor and be ready to sit all day long. If you do this, you will see animals and hopefully get your buck
