I finally picked up my layaway. Thompson encore prohunter 243. Stainless 28" fluted barrel.243 cal just put my 6x18x40 nikon on it. Was shooting 5/8- 3/4 groups @ 100 with Hornady Vmax super performance 58 grn. I love it!

28"!!! I bet that 58gr SuperFormance is flat smoking fast out of that barrel. Hornady has been producing some very accurate factory ammo. My Grendels really like their 123 A-Max & SST loads.

The 58 ' say 3945 fps tested with a 24 inch barrel from hornady

My High Wall in 270WSM picks up some UN canny speed at 28"'s pushing 130's! Extra barrel length is nice for extra velocity!
