Brit pups are getting bigger!
« on: September 01, 2014, 10:07:59 AM »
Our pups are 6 weeks old today, and growing like weeds. We ended up with 4 females and 2 males. There's is 1 male and 1 female that are almost all white, and the other 4 are roanies.  I'm hoping to get out to summer camp in SD this week or next to pick one out.  On another note, pheasant numbers are WAY up in SD this year, and our trainer is getting lots of bird work in.  He's got my female back on track and she will be ready for the start of trial season in 3 weeks.  He has to get her a little more crisp, but she's easily ready to run the 1hr championships we will be enterig her in.  One of my worries was she wouldn't run like she used to because she liked being a mom more than a trial dog.  Luckily, that fear didn't come true, and she's actually running bigger than she ever has.

Growing like a weed now.  Just over 3 months old and 17lbs.  I think she may end up a little bigger then her mom, who is 34lbs soaking wet.  It's going to be tough on our 16 month old daughter when we send the pup off in April or May for training.  She has really fell in love with the pup, and they are becoming buddies.

Beautiful dog.  :)

My Brit is on the small side as well... he is around 37 pounds but I think the smaller ones definitely have their advantages.
