Saw this guy at work today

This is a Northern Saw-Whet Owl I saw tucked in the branches of a noble fir tree. He's tiny, could fit into the palm of your hand.

I see them every now and then, and hear them a lot. I had one land on a branch about 10ft from me once. I didn't pay much attention to him at first......I just thought it was another bird. When I realized it was an owl, I couldn't believe how small he was.

Very cool.  I once seen a pygmy owl.  Those little owls are hard to spot.  Nice pic!  :tup:

Elk hunting the Selkirk's and I saw an owl the size of a grapefruit.  As it turned its head it looked like it had eyes on the back of his head as well.  Cool markings i thought.
