Another Island Deer - Hunter's First
« on: November 15, 2014, 01:38:52 AM »
Well, I invited a forum member out to try to get his first deer.  He got the job done with an offhand 116 yard shot and a 15-20 yard tracking job.

Nice little buck.  Those island deer are good eating.  Taste like chicken.  Looks like a fun place to hunt.  I miss hunting in the San Juans.

One more nice island buck for a pumpkin hunter!

Great work helping him out.  I bet he was stoked.  Sounds like the island is tough to get to.

Nice job, congrats...

Those island deer really are good eating.

Thanks y'all.  It was Captain Silver's first deer.  Another first deer for my neighbor today who brought another HuntWa member to his dad's place.  The HuntWa member got a doe with his bow and the neighbor "kid" got a small forky with the shotgun.

Good luck to everyone still trying tomorrow.

Im on Shaw trying to fill my tag. They are not cooperating. Not in the normal spots or trails.  Saw a couple deer, one small forkie, but no shots.

Congrats on the spike
