2014 unit 340 hunt
« on: November 18, 2014, 02:56:13 PM »
My son and I hunted really hard and saw lots of doe over the three days and also saw about 12 small bucks, but we could not find anything big, maybe the lack of snow had something to do with it, so I settled on this buck. We saw something that most will never see and most would never believe, lookin over this canyon I saw a Golden Eagle hugging the side of the hill, I was watching a doe and her fawn feeding and saw out of the corner of my eye something moving, I thought for a moment it was another deer moving, but noticed it was the Golden Eagle moving fast for the deer he made a pass at the fawn, I motioned for my son to come over and before he did the Eagle came in once again for the fawn, the Eagle went once again way out to the end of the canyon and now with my son and I watching, the Eagle came in low just under the edge of the bluff flying parallel to the canyon and heading once again for the deer, this time he struck the fawn with both of us in awe, the deer jumped and both the doe and fawn made it to a patch of timber, it was unreal and hard to believe. All in all we had a great hunt, saw lots of game, and most importantly got to spend of quality time with my best hunting partner, my son.
