That's pretty cool radsav! Definitely looks like a long lost relative :chuckle:Sounds like you killed it with some pretty primitive equipment compared to todays standards

Some that are perfect examples of the species. But this bull remains one of my all time favorites! I had never seen anything like it until seeing your picture. That is pretty cool He was pretty stupid even by elk standards! I tried to walk across some frozen ground. You know the stuff where the ice crystals raise the dirt up an inch and sound like glass when you walk. It was a horrible day to be out trying to stalk anything. That bull heard the noise and came running to check it out. I knelt down drew my bow and waited to see what was coming. If I hadn't shot at 11 yards I'd have probably been run over. His head was down and he was coming up to me. You can see where the shot entered the throat and exited back by his shoulder blade. Not the smartest shot angle, but it did the trick Has to be some sort of common gene I would think. Sounds like they were taken within reasonable proximity to one another. Wonder how many generations that would be between them in 27 years? I didn't think mine was any older than 2 1/2 years old. How old would you guess yours was? He looks older than mine, but hard to tell from those pictures. In my excitement I forgot to say, "Congratulations on your success!" Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine. Wish I had done a euro like you did. Would make it easier to show as he draws more attention than my non-typical 7x7. Everyone gets a kick out of the 5X4 spike! Never thought I would see another one like it...so glad you posted this!!!
Here's a trail camera picture from the same area I got my bull. Definitely something in the water around there
