New European!
« on: December 21, 2008, 01:25:22 PM »
Finished my Peaches Ridge bull a few weeks ago.  Here it is freshly pressure washed!  I will have a pic of my collection of european mounts soon I am in the process of moving to the house I just built so I have a pile of antlers.  I will try to get them all in one picture.  To be continued...

Very nice! There's something about a euro mount that is just cool. To date I've never done one as it appears to be a lot of work & time! Yours looks great!

Is it true that you can burie the skull and let it sit for a few months and then bleach it out?

I don't know about burying them, I'm always afraid of animals packing them away!

Nice.  I love the Euro's.  It's an inexpensive way to say you did you're own taxidermy.  Pronghorns are really cool that way.

Thanks guys,
I skin off as much meat  as possible then stick it in some high concentrate peroxide my buddy gets for me.  I let is sit for a couple days max and then pressure wash it.  You have to be real careful not to get it on the horn or yourself for obvious reasons.

We just moved into the new house so I will take a pic of my collection.  Bear, pig, elk, and deer skulls!

Later,
Matt
