Any pointers on Snoqualmie or Stampede units?
« on: December 21, 2008, 08:19:26 PM »
I've been hunting the Eastside for years now and finally got a Peaches Ridge bull tag this year. Put in a ton of time scouting and it ended up paying off real nice for me. Both me and another huntin buddy filled our tags. So, been chasing spikes around for a while and after this year, not sure if I can go back. I'm thinking about jumping back over to the Westside to go after the big boys. I was hoping to get some feedback about either the Stampede or Snoqualmie units. I've been doing a lot of "map" scouting and have a couple of spots I want to check out, but won't have any idea if they hold elk until I get up there in spring/summer. Any input would be appriciated.

Here's a couple of pics from my '08 huntin year. Got the buck a couple of days before my elk season started. My buddy got his 5x6 on opening morning and I got my 6x6 the second to last day of the season. An absolute beauty.

As far as the stampede unit goes I have hunted that unit a lot.  I like the area around the town of Lester.  That would be my starting point.

Yeah, I've been searching like crazy for info about these units. I've found, what I think, are great places to start. Just wondering if anyone out there had some personal expirience with those places they wanted to share, that's all. I have no problem puttin in my own work.

Crunchy, I've seen some spots close to Lester that I liked as well, thanks for tip man.

There are some big boys in there.  Huntnphool will probably jump in eventually.  I think he knows that unit much better than I.
