Kifaru
« on: December 23, 2014, 05:02:13 PM »
After 6 months of researching and debating I finally settled on the kifaru DT2. I went with the highlander fabric to match the frame. Ordered it today and now the wait begins. Merry x-mas!

I'm still on the fence trying to decide between the Kifaru dt1 and duplex frame or the KUIU icon pro 7200.

Pretty big price difference between the two systems.

Curious to read your review

For a long time I was thinking I was gonna get the highcamp but decided the functionality of the pockets on the DT2 was worth the extra few ounces.

Completely different class of packs. Kifaru is worth the money, last pack you'll ever have to buy.

I had the dt2. Switched to kuiu icon pro and ultra systems.

Depends on what you value.

The kuiu system works for me and I have more options for my money.

The Icon Pro and the DT2 aren't in a different class. Both top end and each has their perks. :twocents:

I was in the exact same spot you were in until i called Aron from Kifaru.  I have seen a lot of his videos and it seems like he knows what he is talking about from experience and not just designing a "new" pack/frame system to fix previous problems from years before.  I got my new DT1 on Christmas and am very very impressed with the fit and different adjustments you can make with the pack.  For instance, one of my shoulders sits a little higher than the other and i was able to individually adjust the torso length and shoulder strap length to fit exactly how i needed for my body.  I am also 6'6" and needed a pack that would fit me.  Aron's hunting partner is 6'10", and he gets good lift from there packs and so do I.  I loaded it up with 100LBS of sand and the load lifters worked really good and the weight felt as comfortable as 107LBS would feel.  Now i am trying to figure out how i want to run the pouches and attach my bow and stuff like that.  I am open to you coming over and trying my pack out if you want.  I know it can be tough to spend that much money before you even try it on.
