life straw?
«

Anyone use this on back country hikes/hunts? I got one last summer just because I thought it would be cool to drink straight from creeks and all that, plus my gf loved it. We used it to drink out of some glacial rivers in alaska which was really cool. The filter numbers are impressive. So anyone use it or what are some other good, simple, inexpensive water filtration systems. I have just the straw but the lifestraw Go seems like a better idea.

Thanks.

I have heard they plug quickly... would work great in a pinch or as an emergency item in the back pack with your 2 quarts fo water... I keep iodine in the pack. cheep effective compact and works... if you know some one who has had Beaver feaver then you likely wont want to skimp.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I mentioned mine in camp this year and a guy mentioned he had beaver fever once and brought up the fact the any cross contamination would lead to the fever. So if you put the straw in your water bottle then later didn't completly sanitize the bottle inside and out you could get the cross contaminates. He sounded freaked out. Said he lost a lot of weight when it happened.
