Saw about 30 guys fishing it on Sunday just off the park north of the bridge.

Be careful...heard that the ice was only 2 .5" thick over the weekend. If it warms up, like its suppose to, could be trouble. I did not go, as I am tall, and not light.

2.5" isn't much, especially since it isn't hard clear ice.

Quite a difference from ice fishing up in Manitoba a few years ago...  We had to get the 12" extension for the 36" long Ice Wizard auger, and still didn't hit water if we happened to drill where there was a hidden pressure ridge.

I started ice fishing a few years ago. I did a lot of talking to experienced guys and a lot of reading first.
The number one rule to always follow, no matter what:
Do not go out on ice under 4".
If others are foolish enough to risk it, then that's their mistake.
It is a fun time and I always really enjoy the experience. I hope you have as much fun.
Be safe.

there's some out right now.   I thought it would be unsafe but they're still on top the ice.

BIG perch.  We nailed limits from the bank there around Christmas when there was no ice.  It's 43 degrees in Moses now, and glad I'm far away so I wouldn't be tempted to go out on thin ice.  Nothing like have a crack come between your feet like it did for me on Lind Coulee last year.

Wow surprised it's still there, I'm hoping it's gone by this weekend.  I'm trying to go up there to fish it too.

Temp was 27 when I got up this morning. Thick frost all over. Doubt the ice will be gone anytime soon, dang! I wanna go out in the boat after some fish. Fishermen were spread out all over the north side of i90 yesterday.

I couldn't make it over there but I would like to know if the ice got any thicker than 2.5 inches it was last couple of days because if it is I won't make that drive then until it get thicker

They were still a few fishing...ice looked to be reseeding away from the shore line. No way should anyone be out there until we get a deep freeze again.
