7mm Rem Mag Barnes 168 LRX with Retumbo
« on: February 02, 2015, 10:26:36 PM »
Anybody shootin the 168gr LRX? Im trying them out with Retumbo. I know that the 168 VLD and LRX are shaped differently but I should be able to start the LRX off at the same minimum load wouldn't you think? Has anyone else shot the 168gr LRX with Retumbo?

I have not, but I would expect good performance.

I am pushing 165's in my 270 with Retumbo at 2850. you should be able to get to at least 2950 with your 7 Mag

same minimum work up and establish your max charge you should be fine. you should be able to push the 168 over 3000 fps

Not trying to hijack this thread, but I was told by a local reloading wholesaler that Barnes had sold out to a bigger company and soon, would only be selling to large national seller like Cabela's, Midway, etc.
Anyone else hear this?
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

I heard a while back that Barnes was bought. It might have been Remington that bought them.
