Actually it's a 6-24X50 (grin) It's a very good scope, my son used one for 2 years & liked it pretty well. The only thing I'd caution is it has the exposed Turret, if going through lots of thick stuff & brush the brush can roll the Turret! On more than one occasion he had noticed it was no longer on O so had to watch the dial on the Turret that the brush hadn't spun it off O at 200yds which is what it was sighted in at. Outside of that he had it on his 30/06 with no issues, it's a solid scope!

Can't answer on the 6x24x50 but I have a 4x16x50 on a 7mm that I have no complaints about. The turrets track perfect everytime.  I ordered it ( and a couple other Vortex scopes ) from Paul ( Elknut1)

I have the 6.5x 20x 44 sfp.  PST not the hs. Best scope I've ever had. Tracks true and parallax is smooth!

I think the hs lr has a 1/2 moa elevation turret? Thats why i got the pst instead. I like 1/4. The exposed turret should acfept their zerostop shims so you can always return to zero easily.
They are good scopes for the price point imo. I have a 6-24 pst ffp on my rum.

There good scopes but the only thing I don't like is the 1/2 minute adjustments especially when your shooting at around 800+ yards. Do yourself a favor if you buy one, have a custom turret made through Kenton industries.

You guys using the fist focal plane. Do you use the hold over?  I just dial for everything do I cànt justify the price.

I have the 6x24x50 on my 7mm ultra and the 4.5x16x50 on my 300wsm both the hs lr ffp. Love them both but if i was to only choose one i would go with the 4.5x16x50. Reason being with the ffp as you increase your magnification your reticals increase in size allso. So when your scope is magnified at the lowest power 4.5 or 6 depending on witch scope you have. Your retical is zoomed out and hard to see your retical. In order to see your retical and all the hash marks i belive you have to be around 16 to 18 power on the 6x24x50 to see the full picture of your retical and 8 to 10 power on the 4.5x16x50. Somebody currect me if im wrong.

With a ffp scope the retical does not grow or shrink. It is always the same size in relation to the target.

. I was going to have Kenton build me a couple turrets but then Coach turned me onto custom turret systems.  You give them all your ballistics data and the print you these laminated stickers with all the yardage marks that you wrap around your existing turret.  Very customizable too.  All the marks match my MOA adjustments exactly.  $27 to my mail box.

Can you post a pic? I've been thinking about going that route

Actually had a chance to stretch it out to 900 yards on Saturday, over in the blues.  Def want solid ballistic data on your gun and load with the half inch elevation adjustments but it shot well.

What are your thoughts on the parallax at that range? Are you at infinity or can you still dial it in clear with no poa movement?
